DUNCAN — The Kochendorfer Brewing Company in Duncan has created a special beer in honor of Purple Heart Day on Monday.
According to a release, the Purple Heart Beer, which only will be available for a short time, will be introduced at 2 p.m. Saturday in Kochendorfer Brewing Company, 1155 McCurdy Road, Duncan. Recipients of the Purple Heart, veterans and everyone else over 21 are invited to try out the beer from 2 p.m. to midnight and recognize and honor the sacrifices made by veterans.
Military and veterans will receive 25 percent off of all beer. The Lawton Chapter 602 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart will receive $1 for each of these beers sold, the release said.
The Purple Heart is the oldest military decoration given and is given to those who are wounded or killed while serving in the military.
