DUNCAN — Charges against a Duncan man accused of a continuing pattern of abuse with the same woman were dropped Wednesday after the woman was unable to be found to testify at his preliminary hearing.
Delondre Davon Stevenson, 30, of Duncan, made his initial appearance in Stephens County District Court on March 13 where he received felony charges of kidnapping and two counts of domestic abuse — assault and battery, records indicate.
Stevenson was accused of committing domestic violence and holding his girlfriend against her will in February.
Stevenson was freed from jail on March 19 after posting $50,000 bond with the stipulation he have no contact with the woman.
At the time of the charges, Stevenson was already out on $25,000 bond for an April 2023 felony case of domestic abuse — assault and battery, second and subsequent. This charge involves the same woman. The case is scheduled to be set for an upcoming jury trial docket during a 9 a.m. Dec. 11 hearing.
Stevenson has a January 2018 felony conviction in Stephens County for domestic assault and battery resulting in great bodily harm, records indicate. He received a 10-year deferred sentence.
