Certified teachers who are interested in earning an additional qualification to become a reading specialist are encouraged to attend “CU Become a Reading Specialist”.
The free virtual workshop will be presented by the Cameron University Department of Education at 5 p.m. Monday. It will cover the admission standards and curriculum for earning a Master of Education degree in Reading.
To register, go to https://www.cameron.edu/education/events/cu-be-a-reading-specialist to receive a secure link to the Zoom presentation.
By pursuing a master’s degree in reading, students will experience the preparation necessary to serve as reading specialists in Oklahoma public schools. The program provides pedagogy in the teaching of reading and specialized knowledge for working with children who find reading difficult. It will also prepare reading specialists to review and develop reading curricula for the schools in which they teach.
