Cameron University is hosting campus visits with potential presidential candidates this and next week.
The Cameron University Presidential Search Committee is reviewing applications for the Chief Executive Officer of the institution who reports directly to the seven-member Governor-appointed Board of Regents governing The University of Oklahoma, Cameron University, and Rogers State University. Initial interviews have taken place with the candidates, Retired Col. Albert Johnson Jr. and C. Shane Hunt.
“We have been working diligently with staff members at CU and we expect two great days for the two candidates,” said Mackenzie Wilfong, J.D., Executive Secretary of the Board of Regents
A community reception for Johnson will be at 5 p.m. today at the McMahon Centennial Complex, Ballroom B.
A community reception for Hunt will be at the same time and location on Jan. 25.
Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served and no RSVP required.
Johnson will meet with faculty, staff and students earlier today at the same location and Hunt will meet with them on Jan. 25. Both events will be at the same location.
Schedule:
•10-11 a.m., fireside chat, staff focused.
•11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., pizza lunch, student focused.
•2-3 p.m., fireside chat, faculty focused.
Jari Askins began work July 22, 2024, as interim president of Cameron University, replacing former CU President John McArthur when he retired the day before after 11 years as president.
