Cameron University’s CU Become A Special Education Teacher, a virtual learning session, will walk you through the steps to achieve certification in special education.
This free, informational event is slated from 5-6 p.m. Sept. 19 via Zoom. To register and receive a secure link, go to https://www.cameron.edu/special-ed.
Individuals who already hold a bachelor’s degree in a non-education field and who have a minimum 2.75 GPA may enroll in a graduate level course that is being offered during the second eight weeks of the Fall 2023 semester. “Children & Youth: Special Needs” is a hybrid course, meaning part of the course is done online and part of the course is done in a face-to-face classroom setting. Those unable to attend the in-person component may attend via Zoom.
After successful completion of the course, individuals may apply for provisional certification and then have three years to complete 18 additional hours of graduate coursework and pass the teaching certification tests. The class will start on Tuesday, Oct. 10; enrollment is open until Oct. 18.
