ANADARKO — A couple has been charged with 25 counts of Caddo County cattle thefts amid an investigation by the Caddo County Sheriff’s Department.
Joshua Paul Myers, 37, of Marlow, and Brandy Ingram Myers, 45, of Lookeba, have each been charged in Caddo County District Court with 25 felony counts of larceny of domestic animals, felony value false pretenses/bogus check/con game, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and pattern of criminal offenses, records indicate.
Caddo County Sheriff’s Deputy Investigator Thomas Adkins said the pair were arrested June 4 for prior felony warrants out of Caddo and Comanche counties. They had been the target of several investigations of burglary and theft in various locations throughout Caddo County.
“When arrested both subjects had a large sum of money on them and Brandy Myers told the deputies that the money was from selling cattle that she inherited from her grandmother,” he said. “Brandy Myers also had documentation that she had sold 25 head of cattle to Oklahoma City West Livestock Market.”
According to the probable cause affidavit, Joshua Myers had $12,200 in cash and Brandy Myers had $12,140 on them when taken into custody.
Joined by Investigator Chris Leal and Special Agent Devin Huckabay from the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Adkins determined that 25 head of cattle, along with a truck and trailer, were stolen from Squires Farms near Alfalfa in Caddo County. Investigators were able to retrieve video footage and statements from eyewitnesses from the Oklahoma City West Livestock Market. All the cattle were returned to Squires Farms.
Caddo County Sheriff’s investigators believe that others also were involved in this crime, and it is still an ongoing investigation, according to Adkins.
Joshua Myers also had an outstanding Caddo County felony warrant for second-degree burglary and a misdemeanor count of petit larceny, records indicate. He made his initial appearance in court on June 5 and is being held on $100,000 bond for that case as well as another $100,000 for a Jan. 16 initial appearance in Caddo County District Court for felony counts of feloniously pointing a firearm and possession of a firearm after former felony conviction. Records indicate he had been free on $5,000 bond since his initial court appearance.
Brandy Ingram Myers had been free on $30,000 bond in Caddo County since her initial appearance Feb. 28 for felony charges of distribution of controlled dangerous substances, possession of a firearm after former felony conviction, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, bringing contraband into jail, possession of burglary tools, obstructing police and possession of drug paraphernalia, records indicate.
Arrest warrants were issued for Joshua Myers and Brandy Ingram Myers on May 30 in Comanche County for felony counts of unauthorized use of vehicle and unauthorized use of a credit card, records indicate.
