Comanche County Fairgrounds hosted the tractor driving contest September 7, put on in memory of Stanley Kriz. Each year his son, Adam Kriz, with the help of Cody Barrington and Ethan Theis, set up and judge the contest just like Stanley did years ago. The tractor driving contest is part of the Comanche County Fair and is open to members of Comanche County FFA and 4H club members. The contest features a written test on tractor safety and a timed driving test. The driving test is done with a tractor and drill that the driver must drive through a course forwards and then backwards without hitting barriers or violating safety measures. This event qualifies the winners for the Tulsa State Fair.
This year’s winners were: First place, Jentry Sullivan from Sterling 4H; second place, Caleb Langford from Elgin 4H; third place, Lauren Bohl from Chattanooga 4H.
