A 40-year-old Lawton man will spend five years in prison and a lifetime as a registered sex offender after pleading guilty to propositioning a 13-year-old over Facebook to have sex and take illicit photos and video.
On Wednesday, Comanche County Presiding District Judge Emmit Tayloe sentenced Ronald Lloyd Brown to 15 years with the Department of Corrections with five years to serve and 10 years suspended under conditions after pleading guilty to a count of lewd or indecent proposals to a child under 16.
Brown received another five-year prison sentence to run concurrently after pleading guilty to soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology. He will receive credit for time served.
Lawton police received information from an Oklahoma Child Predator Prevention group that Brown had been communicating through Facebook with a 13-year-old girl. The girl told Brown her age and he acknowledged by saying “I read that on ur profile,” the probable cause affidavit states.
Brown admitted to saying he’d like to rent a motel room so he could perform sex acts on her, make a video and take photos of her getting undressed.
Brown told police he’d begun communicating with the girl a month before and admitted he wanted to give her a massage and possibly have sex with her, the affidavit states. He told investigators he knew it was wrong and admitted he sent a photo of his penis to the girl.
Brown has been in the Comanche County Detention Center since his initial court appearance on Oct. 27, 2023, records indicate.
