DUNCAN — The wife of a Stephens County man serving prison time after pleading guilty in 2022 to having a sexual relationship with a teen girl is wanted for lying to investigators.
The Stephens County District Court issued a felony arrest warrant Wednesday for Kyla Mann, a.k.a. Kyla Dee Williams, 39, of El Reno, for two counts of making contradictory statements as perjury, records indicate.
During Richard Lee Mann’s July 2022 non-jury trial for four counts of child sexual abuse, Kyla Mann was slated to be a witness. According to the warrant affidavit, she’d previously told investigators she didn’t have knowledge of the crimes committed by her husband against the girl and denied staying at a motel after the last incident where she’d admitted to driving up and suspected her husband and the girl were engaged in inappropriate acts.
Stephens County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Timothy Vann stated that during Kyla Mann’s testimony on July 20, 2022, she denied remembering the incident she’d driven up to as well as staying at the motel. Testimony that followed by the girl’s brother directly contradicted her testimony, the affidavit states.
Documentation showed a receipt for Kyla Mann’s stay at the motel as well as her driver’s license used for identification, Vann stated.
Richard Mann, 48, of Comanche, was found guilty of all four charges and received concurrent 10-year sentences with seven years to serve and three suspended, records indicate. Due to the nature of the crimes, 85 percent of the sentence must be served before becoming eligible for parole.
Richard Mann will receive no less than two years of post-release supervision for the Department of Corrections and must register as a sex offender.
Investigators said Richard Mann claimed the girl enticed him and instigated the sexual relationship, according to the probable cause affidavit. He also blamed alcohol.
A charge that Richard Mann tried to prevent a witness from testifying was dismissed in December 2021, records indicate. He’d been accused of writing letters from jail and calling witnesses to get them to not testify against him. Intercepted letters from him and recorded phone calls were used as evidence against him.
Richard Mann is serving his sentence at the James Crabtree Correctional Center in Helena, according to DOC records.
A $25,000 cash warrant was issued upon Kyla Mann’s arrest.
