City of Lawton and Comanche County offices will be closed later this week for the Thanksgiving holiday.
City of Lawton offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, with closures to include Lawton City Hall. Lawton Public Library will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday and both the library and its Branch Library will be closed Thursday and Friday, before reopening Saturday. The city’s solid waste division will not collect residential, commercial or industrial refuse on Thursday. But, trash normally collected on Thursday will be collected Friday, and Friday’s refuse routes will be run on Saturday. The city landfill also will be closed Thursday, but will reopen Friday.
Comanche County offices, including those in the Comanche County Courthouse, will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Normal hours will resume for city and county offices on Dec. 2.
LATS will not run its normal fixed routes on Thursday, but will resume normal operations at 6 a.m. Friday.
City educational entities also will be affected by the Thanksgiving holiday.
Lawton Public Schools and Great Plains Technology Center will be closed all week, with classes to resume Dec. 2.
Cameron University will be closed Wednesday through Friday, with most normal operations to resume Dec. 2. Cameron’s library will reopen Saturday, while the Aggie Rec Center will be open 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 1.
