A now four-time convicted Lawton man pleaded guilty to molesting a 5-year-old girl and to possessing and distributing child porn.
Joseph Anthony Reeves, 44, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Comanche County District Court to felony counts of lewd molestation, possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography, all after former felony convictions, records indicate.
Chief District Judge Grant Sheperd sentenced Reeves to 28-year prison sentences per count with the sentences to be served concurrently. He also will have to register as a sex offender and will have to pay $1,751.50 in fines and court costs.
Lawton Police Department Special Operations Unit began investigating Reeves on June 10, 2022, after receiving information he was in an inappropriate relationship with a 5-year-old girl, the probable cause affidavit states.
Investigators said during his interview, Reeves “confessed to the lewd acts with the minor,” the affidavit states, to include multiple incidents of inappropriate touching. A search of his phone turned up images of girls under 12 years old in sexually explicit positions as well as information he’d been sending images to others, according to the charges.
Reeves has prior felony convictions: McClain County, July 2017, unauthorized use of a vehicle; and in Comanche County, June 2003, robbery with a weapon; and December 2013, possession of a firearm after former felony conviction, records indicate.
Reeves has been in jail on $100,000 bond since his initial court appearance June 16, 2022.
