Cameron University has announced that Michael “Mick” Coponiti will become its next vice president for Business and Finance on Jan. 22.
The hiring was approved Friday by the Board of Regents for the University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University.
Coponiti comes to CU from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, where he has served as vice president for Business and Finance since 2006. He joined the USAO staff in 1994 and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Cameron in 1999.
“Mick brings a wealth of experience as a chief financial officer at another Oklahoma institution of higher education as well as being one of our graduates,” said Cameron President John McArthur. As vice president for Business and Finance, Coponiti will serve as the university’s chief financial officer. He will oversee administration and leadership of the Business Office, Office of Human Resources and Office of Public Safety.
