Cameron University senior and Lawton resident Nevaeh West has been awarded scholarships by the Association of International CPAs (AICPA) and the Oklahoma Society of CPAs (OSCPA).
West received the AICPA Foundation Two-Year Transfer Scholarship, awarded to only 40 accounting students across the country, according to a press release. The scholarship is awarded to students planning on pursuing CPA licensure and who are enrolled in a business and/or accounting program that is regionally, nationally or internationally accredited for the 2024-2025 academic year.
OSCPA awarded West the Thomas Fund Memorial Scholarship, the release said. She is one of 39 accounting students in Oklahoma to be selected for a scholarship by the organization.
West is a member of CU’S Presidential Leaders and University Scholars program, the release said. She is an active member of the Accounting club, serving one term as treasurer, and participates in the annual OSCPA Day of Service. She’s earned micro-credentials in many different courses including Personal Finance. In May 2025, she will graduate with a Bachelor of Accounting degree, Associate in Science degree in Business and a certificate in Banking and Finance. She is currently employed at Hatch, Croke & Associates as a staff accountant.
