EAKLY — Two people from Fort Cobb were hospitalized in Oklahoma City following a Saturday afternoon wreck with a tractor in northern Caddo County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
A Case International tractor driven by John L. Wyatt was traveling northbound on Oklahoma 58 shortly after 3:15 p.m. when a Hyundai Santa Cruz driven the same direction by Glen T. Edwards collided with the farm equipment, Trooper Eric Burchett reported. Glen Edwards had been distracted by the GPS in his vehicle before the collision, according to the report.
Glen Edwards, 75, of Fort Cobb, was taken to OU Medical Center where he was admitted in stable condition with an internal trunk injury, the report states.
His passenger, Jeremy D. Edwards, 73, of Fort Cobb, was trapped inside the Hyundai until Hydro firefighters extricated him with a hydraulic rescue tool, according to Burchett. He was flown to OU Medical Center where he was admitted in stable condition with a leg injury.
Wyatt, 70, of Hydro, was not injured.
The wreck, blamed on inattentive driving, caused the roadway to be closed for almost an hour and 45 minutes, the report states.
