OKLAHOMA CITY — The Office of the Attorney General has charged an Oklahoma City man with defrauding clients out of more than $39,000 for construction work that was never done, including for a job in Comanche County.
Paris Stephen Bilbro 29, is accused of contracting with customers in Lawton, McLoud and Tuttle for roof repairs over a two-month period in 2023. His company, AMG Construction Group, failed to do any of the work it was contracted to complete, according to Phil Bacharach, communications director for the Attorney General. Bilbro never refunded the money.
Four felony counts were filed against Bilbro on Monday in Grady County District Court: three counts of embezzlement and one count of pattern of criminal offenses.
The first embezzlement charge is for allegations that between September and November 2023, Bilbro was paid over $2,500 by a Lawton man to replace his roof. No repairs were made
Attorney General Gentner Drummond said his office has no tolerance for consumer fraud.
“The attorneys, investigators and support staff of the Consumer Protection Unit of the Attorney General’s Office do an outstanding job ensuring justice for Oklahomans who have been cheated by unscrupulous actors,” he said. “This case starkly illustrates why consumers should always be cautious upon entering into a contract.”
Bacharach said any individual who believes he or she has been defrauded by the defendant in this case is urged to contact the Consumer Protection Unit of the Attorney General’s Office at (405) 521-2029 or via email at [email protected].
