Arvest Foundation supports Holiday in the Park with $15,000 donation

The Arvest Foundation recently announced a $15,000 donation to support Holiday in the Park, a Christmas light display in Elmer Thomas Park.

Funds will be used to help with operational and maintenance expenses, as well as the purchase of new attractions for the annual event. Holiday in the Park is led by the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce and run entirely by volunteers.

Earl Mack, Arvest Credit Administrator and Holiday in the Park Treasurer, and Shelly Fields, Arvest Business Development Officer and a Holiday in the Park volunteer, joined other Arvest associates in presenting the check to Chamber members.

“The Holiday in the Park committee works countless hours to ensure our community can experience the joy of the holiday season, and it is an honor to be able to present this donation on behalf of the Arvest Foundation,” said Mack. “The work the volunteers put in to showcase a spectacular event is a true testament of their love of the Lawton-Fort Sill community.”

The event features holiday light displays, a parade, Ferris wheel, ice skating rink, train rides, petting zoo, food trucks and more. As a nonprofit organization, Holiday in the Park relies solely on sponsorships and donations from the public to operate.

“Holiday in the Park is excited and thankful for the support of the Arvest Foundation of our work,” said John Michael Montgomery, chair of Holiday in the Park and president and CEO of the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce. “The event is truly a community effort and having community partners like the Arvest Foundation is critical to the growth of Holiday in the Park and the joy that this event brings to families and our community. These contributions support the expansion of this public art and aid in making our community an ideal place to live work and play.”
