The American Cancer Society will hold its annual Relay For Life from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday in the Annex Building of the Comanche County Fairgrounds, 920 S. Sheridan.
This year, the society is hosting a craft and vendor show with the theme Red, White and Blue … Merry Christmas to You, according to a press release.
Michele McDowell, event chairperson for Relay For Life, said they’ve been involved in the event for the past 27 years.
“We’ve always wanted to have a patriotic-themed event,” McDowell said. “So we coupled that with a Christmas in July theme and came up with Red, White and Blue … Merry Christmas to You.”
The event will raise money for the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge in Oklahoma City, the release said. After being referred to Hope Lodge by the cancer patient’s physician or treatment facility, the patient can receive housing at no cost at the Lodge while in Oklahoma City for treatment.
The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted.
