ANADARKO — Charges were leveled against a pair of Anadarko men accused of a home invasion the victim said may have stemmed from his relationship with one of the men’s ex-girlfriend.

The Caddo County District Court issued felony arrest warrants Tuesday for Devin Dale Clayton, 22, and Kinion Lake Jarvis, 23, records indicate.

Both men are charged with larceny, conspiracy, entering a dwelling without permission and assault and battery. Clayton also has a pending charge for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Anadarko police were called around 9 a.m. May 10 to an apartment at 614 E. Texas regarding an assault. A woman tole them the victim had run up to her with his mouth bleeding and said he’d been assaulted in his apartment by two men who left in a red Chevrolet Silverado, the warrant affidavit states. Officer Alfredo Moreno stated he knew the victim and saw he was bleeding from his mouth with a gash under his bottom lip.

The man told Moreno that Clayton and Kinion came to his apartment, pushed him aside and began hitting him with fists and poles, according to the affidavit. The man had officers look him over for a possible stab wound because, he said, Clayton had brought out a knife during the assault, Moreno stated.

After being able to grab one of his attackers and push him out of the way, the man said he ran out of the apartment to get help. A black bicycle with gold handlebars and the man’s iPhone were taken, the affidavit states. The man said he didn’t know why he’d been assaulted unless it was over an ex-girlfriend of Clayton’s, according to Moreno.

Officers were unable to find Clayton. When they went to Kinion’s door, he did not answer, Moreno stated. Records indicate following the issuance of the arrest warrant, Kinion was booked into the Caddo County jail shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Kinion made his initial appearance Wednesday and is being held on $50,000 bond. He returns to court at 9 a.m. July 19 for his preliminary hearing conference, according to records.

Clayton pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor domestic assault and battery charge in May 2023. He’d originally been charged with felony counts of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree robbery, both after former conviction of a former felony, as well as a misdemeanor count of domestic abuse, assault and battery, records indicate.

Clayton received a five-year suspended sentence June 30, 2022, in Caddo County District Court for unlawful possession of a controlled drug with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm after juvenile adjudication. He was remanded to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections in May 2023 for counts of distribution of an imitation controlled substance and convicted felon prohibited of carrying firearms following a revocation hearing.
