A 53-year-old Caddo County man will serve eight years in prison and become a lifetime registered sex offender after pleading guilty Tuesday to using a hidden camera to take pornographic video of a 16-year-old girl.
Philip Charles Gelpi Sr., of Cyril, pleaded guilty in Comanche County District Court to a felony count of manufacturing child pornography, records indicate.
District Judge Grant Sheperd followed the District Attorney’s office recommendation and gave Gelpi a 20-year sentence with eight years to serve and 12 years suspended. He will receive credit for time served; he has been in custody of the Comanche County Detention Center since his initial court appearance in March 2022.
Gelpi was living at the Comanche County home where the girl also lives. At one point, a monitor broadcasting a live feed from a camera in the girl’s room pointed to her bed and bathroom was seen in Gelpi’s room, according to the warrant affidavit.
Gelpi admitted to investigators of having the recording device placed in the room without the girl’s consent, according to the affidavit.
On Gelpi’s phone, investigators found three videos of the girl exposed and compromised while changing or using the bathroom.
