Potential jurors return to the Comanche County Courthouse Monday to undergo the jury selection process for the third of four weeks of the felony jury trial docket.
Three higher profile cases are slated for trial this week. All scheduled trials are subject to change pending potential plea agreements before their scheduled start.
On Monday, a Lawton man will face allegations he forced his then-girlfriend’s 9-year-old child to perform sex acts.
Jaalil Khaleem Robinson, 29, will begin trial Monday in Comanche County District Judge Emmit Tayloe’s courtroom for a felony count of forcible sodomy. The crime is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Lawton police began investigating Robinson after the girl told her mother of the alleged abuse on Dec. 16, 2021, according to the warrant affidavit. The girl told investigators Robinson had told her to touch and kiss his genitals and she’d complied.
The mother told Lawton Police investigators she confronted Robinson about the allegation after they’d broken up. His reply, she said: “What are you going to do about it?” the affidavit states.
An arrest warrant was issued on April 29, 2022, and he was arrested by U.S. Marshals the next month in Cobb County, Ga.
The ex-girlfriend filed for an emergency protective order against Robinson on Feb. 22, records indicate.
Robinson has been held on a $200,000 bond since his initial court appearance on May 31, 2022.
In District Judge Scott D. Meaders’ court Monday, jury selection will begin for the trial of a 23-year-old man for allegations he shot into an occupied Lawton home in March 2020.
Quamail Quameer Willis, a.k.a., Quameil Quameek Willis, 23, wil be on trial for felony charges of discharging a firearm into a dwelling and possession of a firearm after delinquent adjudication, records indicate.
The case is to be bifurcated, meaning it is to be divided into two stages so as not to prejudice the jury regarding prior convictions, according to law.cornell.edu.
Willis was to be tried in September. 2023, however, during jury selection and during instruction for the case before them, Meaders announced the charge for possession of a firearm after delinquent adjudication, causing him to declare a mistrial.
Willis is accused of a March 2020 shooting into a home in the 2400 block of Northwest 42nd Street. Investigators said it had been shot “numerous times while the residence was occupied by two juvenile children,” along with an adult nephew, according to the probable cause affidavit. No one was injured in the incident.
Willis was adjudicated as a delinquent child of assault with a deadly weapon in Tarrant County, Texas, in June 2017, records indicate.
On Jan. 23, Willis was found guilty of gun and gang charges following two days of trial, the first week of the current trial docket.
The jury recommended Willis serve five years in prison for each felony count.
Willis requested delayed sentencing in that case following a pre-sentencing investigation. He will be formally sentenced at 11 a.m. Thursday, records show. He is being held with no bond
Jury selection begins Wednesday in Meaders’ courtroom for a Lawton man accused of breaking into a home and beating another man with a mallet and wooden table leg during a robbery in April 2023.

The man said Lindsey clubbed him with a broken table leg and a mallet before taking his car keys and wallet, the probable cause affidavit states. The man said he was unable to call the police immediately following the incident because of his injuries and mobility issues
Police found Lindsey at the home and took him into custody. According to the affidavit, a broken table, mallet and blood were all found inside the kitchen and the man’s keys were found in his pocket.
Lindsey has a May 2018 conviction in Comanche County for second-degree burglary, records indicate.
Lindsey has been in jail on $75,000 bond with the order to have no contact with the man.
