DUNCAN — Bakers, sugar artists, and candy makers are invited to enter the second annual Sweet Treat Celebration from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 3 at First United Methodist Church in Duncan, 2300 Country Club Road.
The competition will give bakers a chance to show off their specialties, network with the public, and allow ticket holders to taste sample sizes of a variety of treats.
The Genealogy Society is raising money for a permanent handicap ramp on the north side of the library.
Entrants can pick up an entry form at the Genealogy Library at 321 N 8th in Duncan, or by emailing [email protected] by Jan. 26. There is no cost to enter. Cash awards are $200 for first place, $100 for second place, and $50 for third place.
The People’s Choice award will be awarded a hand carved wooden rolling pin by Rick Rodgers.
Tickets to the event are $10 each.
There are three ways to participate: by entering a treat, by becoming a sponsor at levels $100, $200, $300 or more; or by purchasing a ticket or blocks of tickets and sampling the wares. Tickets are available at the Genealogy Library, from a member, or at the door. Take out boxes will be available.
