High school basketball fans who asked for Santa Claus to bring them plenty of games to watch will get their present this week as the third tournament week of the season begins across the state.
Three of the most-watched events are all in Lawton or just up Highway 287 at Apache and Anadarko. All three tournaments begin Thursday with eight games each day.
Local fans can go to the Great Plains Coliseum starting Thursday for the Jeff Hart Memorial Classic. Games begin art 10:45 a.m. and run until the final contest at 8:20 p.m. The field includes are teams Chattanooga, Fletcher, and Central High. Both Chatty teams will play in the first two games at 10:45 a.m. and 12:05.
At Apache the Slick Hills Invitational sponsored by the Apache Rattlesnake Festival begins at 11 a.m. and concludes at 8:20 p.m. with Apache boys facing Hollis.
Area teams in the field include Walters, Big Pasture and the host Warriors.
Anadarko will be hosting its annual Midfirst Warrior Classic starting at well on Thursday. No bracket was available but Eisenhower girls, MacArthur boys and both Cache teams will be in the field.
The Lawton High School boys will compete in the tough Putnam City Tournament and both Elgin teams will compete in the rugged Weatherford Tournament with both of those starting Thursday as well.
