A Lawton teen is in jail on $100,000 bond after investigators tracked child pornography uploaded to an online app back to him.
Emmanuel Garcia, 18, of Lawton, made his initial appearance Friday in Comanche County District Court where he received felony charges of possession of juvenile pornography and violation of Oklahoma statutes via computer, records indicate. The porn charge is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Lawton Police Detective Christopher Adamson stated he was investigating an Internet Crimes Against Children Cybertip on Dec. 1 regarding someone using Kik who uploaded a video depicting child porn. The investigation led to Garcia.
On Wednesday, the Lawton Special Operations Unit served a search warrant on Garcia’s home and three cellphones and a laptop computer were taken by investigators, the probable cause affidavit states. Garcia was arrested and booked into jail.
Garcia returns to court at 3 p.m. March 19, 2024, for his preliminary hearing conference, records indicate.
