DUNCAN — The Kiddieland Express Holiday Experience will roll into town with an abundance of holiday festivities.
For the second year, Kiddieland Park will transform into a Christmas wonderland for families to enjoy.
The holiday experience will open from 6-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, as well as from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.
Brittany Maxwell, with the Duncan Chisholm Trail Kiwanis, said the club is excited to host another year of the Kiddieland Express Holiday Experience.
“This is largely due to the support and excellent turn out we had from the community last year,” she said.
Maxwell said family and friends are invited to hop on a magical adventure for the Kiddieland Express Holiday Experience.
“(It’s) a heartwarming fundraising event that promises joy, laughter and a dash of holiday spirit,” she said. For just $5, participants not only secure a ticket to ride the Kiddieland Express train and carousel in the park, but also receive a cup of hot cocoa and a scrumptious cookie to savor along the way.”
Maxwell noted as soon as families set foot into Kiddieland, they will see all the festivities offered — from traditional caroling from Duncan Little Theatre volunteers to a meet and greet with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
“This year we have added a few new attractions like a ‘Letters to Santa’ station,” she said. “Here, participants can take a moment to put pen to paper and craft a special letter to Santa Claus, expressing their holiday wishes and spreading the joy of the season.”
Maxwell said this is one of their more heartwarming activities offered to bring a touch of nostalgia, as well as a bit of tradition to the Holiday Experience.
After purchasing a ticket, attendees can hop aboard the Kiddieland Express train and ride throughout the park.
While enjoying the ride, Maxwell said passengers will have a chance to see the festive decorations, twinkling lights and an enchanting holiday atmosphere.
“Along the way passengers will make a stop to hear a classic holiday tale, ’Twas the Night Before Christmas,’” she said.
According to Maxwell, the most special part about the Holiday Experience is its purpose beyond the merriment.
“The $5 ticket price serves as a donation towards a noble cause, with proceeds contributing to local charities, community programs and scholarships to a few deserving Duncan High School Senior students,” she said. “Participants can revel in the holiday festivities while knowing that their contribution is making a positive impact in their community.”
According to Maxwell, the Kiddieland Express Holiday Experience is more than just a ride through a winter wonderland. It’s a journey of joy, warmth and giving.
“With the combination of a festive train ride, delicious treats, a letter to Santa and the timeless carousel, this event encapsulates the magic of the holidays,” she said.
Kiddieland Park is located at the corner of Beech Avenue and Highway 81 in Duncan.
