Lawton Public Schools will be represented at all levels of competition at the Oklahoma Scholastic Esports State Championship, taking place today and Saturday at Southwestern Oklahoma State University Esports Arena in Weatherford and Dec. 11-12 at Metro Tech Springlake Campus Business & Technology Center in Oklahoma City.

Today, elementary school players from Hugh Bish Elementary and Crosby Park Elementary will face off in OKSE Little eLeague’s grand finals on “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” and “Mario Kart 8.”

For “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate,” Aiden Adams of Hugh Bish will play against Bill Johnson of Crosby Park to become state champ. Ridgecrest Elementary School’s Kalel Gonzalez-Locklin secured a Lawton Public Schools podium sweep by placing third in the same title during playoffs. In “Mario Kart 8,” Ethan Razo and Aiden Adams of Hugh Bish Team 3 and Brian Gonzalez and Aaron Oliver of Crosby Park Team 3 will race for the gold.

Immediately following the OKSE Little eLeague Championship, 16 players from Eisenhower Middle School MacArthur Middle School and Central Middle School will compete in the semester-long season’s top 42 bracket for “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” in the OKSE Upper Division. The OKSE Middle School State Championships also will conclude today, with Central Middle School “Omega Strikers” team and the EMS and MMS “Rocket League” teams all playing for state titles.

On Saturday, Eisenhower High School, Lawton High School, and MacArthur High School will send 16 players to compete for the “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” in the top 64 bracket for “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” in the Upper Division.

On Dec. 11-12, Epic Charter Schools will host the final rounds for OKSE High School State Championships. LHS will go for the state title in the “Halo Infinite” Upper Division. MHS “Rocket League” and “Valorant” teams will compete in the OKSE White Tailed Deer Division. EHS Rocket League Teams 1 and 2 will play for championships in the OKSE Bison Division.

LPS Esports has been represented in each season’s state championships since joining OKSE last academic year.
