Soldier accused of using hidden cameras to peep on teen sisters

A 43-year-old Lawton man, a soldier, is in jail on $500,000 bond after being charged with clandestinely taking video of a two teen sisters.

Justin Courtney Houser made his initial appearance Friday in Comanche County District Court where he received two felony counts of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 as well as another felony charge of peeping tom with photographic/electronic equipment, records indicate. The first two counts are each punishable by between three to 20 years in prison.

Lawton Police Sgt. Howard Pierce was called to a southeast Lawton home shortly before 12:30 a.m. Nov. 8 after the girls’ mother reported her daughters found two pieces of camera equipment camouflaged as a wall plug and smoke detector in the 15-year-old girl’s bathroom, the probable cause affidavit states. Both had SIM cards inside them and were wi-fi capable, Pierce stated.

On Nov. 14, Pierce called Army Criminal Investigation Division for assistance in picking Houser up on post while at work at a training site and arrested him. While en route to the police station, Houser told Pierce “he made a mistake” and that when off his bi-polar medication he spirals out of control and makes “stupid” decisions, the affidavit states. Once at the station, Houser admitted he’d put the camera in the bathroom “to see what he could see,” Pierce stated. He denied seeing any images from the cameras.

Investigators looking through images on the SIM cards found photos of the two sisters, one 15 and the other 16, in various stages of undress and completely nude, according to the affidavit.

Held with the stipulation he have no contact with the girls, Houser returns to court at 3 p.m. March 5, 2024, for his preliminary hearing conference, records indicate.
