The Lawton/Fort Sill based Fires Innovation Science and Technology Accelerator (FISTA) Innovation Park, in collaboration with the U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery Association, celebrated a milestone achievement with the successful hosting of its inaugural Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) Forum last week.
The event, held at the FISTA Convention Center, attracted about 400 attendees, including representatives from the U.S. Army’s senior leadership, elected officials, industry professionals and key stakeholders.
Twenty industry-leading Department of Defense (DoD) contractors showcased their cutting-edge C-UAS efforts.
The event’s speaker lineup featured over 15 expert speakers, with Maj. Gen. Sean A. Gainey, the Director of the Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems Office for the United States Army, serving as the keynote speaker. Each speaker shared insights that contributed to an informative discussion on the latest developments in countering unmanned aerial threats, according to a press release.
The C-UAS Forum not only served as a nexus for the U.S. Army’s senior leadership in the C-UAS fight and leaders of the nation’s DoD contractors but also left a lasting impact on the Lawton/Fort Sill community. The synergy observed between current FISTA partners has sparked interest from several new companies, now considering the establishment of operations in the FISTA. This solidifies the FISTA as the premier destination for DoD contractors collaborating with Futures Command on Fort Sill and other DoD related institutions, according to a press release.
