CHICKASHA — A Lawton man was involved in a fatal wreck 8 miles south of Chickasha on Saturday morning that killed an Oklahoma City woman and hospitalized another.
A Mercedes driven by Marshall J. Point and a Nissan Kicks driven by Hildreth A. Overcash collided in the northeastbound lane of Interstate 44 around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Point, 35, of Lawton, was treated and released from Grady County Memorial Hospital, Trooper Bryce Stout reported.
Overcash, 61, was first taken to Grady Memorial before being transferred to OU Medical before being diverted to St. Anthony’s South in Oklahoma City where she was pronounced dead, according to the report.
Janice E. Miller, 66, of Oklahoma City, was Overcash’s passenger. She was first taken to Grady Memorial before being transferred to OU Medical where she was admitted with head and internal trunk injuries, the report states.
Both drivers and the passenger were wearing seatbelts, according to Stout.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
