ANADARKO — Completed time in drug treatment allowed a Caddo County man to receive a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to child abuse.
On Tuesday, Caddo County District Judge David A. Stephens formally sentenced Brian Leroy Wetselline, 44, of Anadarko, to the suspended sentence for a November 2022 plea of guilty to a felony count of child abuse, records indicate. The sentence followed a letter of completion of substance abuse treatment from Ray’s House in Muskogee.
Anadarko police began investigating Wetselline in January 2022 after being called to a physical domestic incident between him and his daughter, the warrant affidavit states. Wetselline was accused of throwing the girl to the ground and then dragging her around by the hair while trying to hit her.
The girl told police she believed, “Wetselline was coming down off of being high” is what set him off, the affidavit states.
Wetselline returns to court at 9 a.m. Dec. 15 for a treatment review.
