TULSA — Volunteers of America Oklahoma has received two grants totaling $2.1M to support mothers and their children in Southwest Oklahoma.
Humana and the Humana Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Humana Inc., is investing $600,000 and the Health Resources and Services Administration Rural Communities Opioid Response Program — Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome has committed a $1.5M grant to be rolled out over the next three years. The combined funding will be used to bring Family-Focused Recovery services to the region, according to a press release.
Family-Focused Recovery provides treatment and recovery support services for pregnant and postpartum women with substance use disorders, according to a press release.
The Family-Focused Recovery Substance Use Disorder program includes medical care, addiction therapy, behavioral health services, and comprehensive family support. The partner investments will be used to establish a 16-bed facility for mothers and their children in Lawton and Caddo, Cotton, Kiowa, and Stephens counties, according to a press release.
Humana manages Medicaid benefits through the Humana Healthy Horizons brand, integrating physical and behavioral health, pharmacy, and social services for a whole-person approach to improve the health and well-being of the people and communities they serve.
