This year’s LHS Fall Festival will have tons of fun activities and entertainment offered by student organizations from 5-7 p.m. Saturday in the school’s east parking lot.
This year’s events — all have candy for the little ghouls and goblins — will include a cornhole contest and a Superhero Scavenger Hunt.
Everyone is welcome and costumes are encouraged. Admission is one can of food per person, which will be donated to the Lawton Food Bank.
The scavenger hunt is a new event, one that was created to fill a void created by damage from burst water pipes at the beginning of the school year. The flood destroyed Drama Club equipment in the basement under the stage and left the area — which had accommodated the haunted house — unusable for this year’s festival.
“We start by picking a theme for the activity we are going to do and plan from there,” said Arline Taylor, sponsor of the Drama Club. The club sets deadlines for ads and notifications and create, plan and rehearse the club’s activity.
“That’s when they came up with a Superhero Scavenger Hunt,” she said. “There will be superheroes at the Fall Fest that you have to find and take a selfie with.”
When you take a selfie with every superhero, show the pictures to Taylor and collect a bag of candy.
