Take an armchair tour of Greece with Kathy Gray as she presents “Greece From the Back of a Motorcycle” at the Nov. 9 meeting of the Wichita Wildlight Photographic Society.
Gray will explain some of the history of that ancient country with photos of the Parthenon, Temple of Poseidon, the Oracle of Delphi, monasteries of Meteora, ancient Olympia, medieval stone-built fortress of Monemvasia, Theater of Epidaurus, and the famous Corinth Canal.
She said these places represent “the real Greece, beyond the white buildings with blue roofs and pristine coastal waters found in travel magazines.”
Gray and her husband Ken have gone on motorcycle excursions to five continents in the past 10 years, and they toured the European Alps on BMWs for their 25th wedding anniversary.
The Nov. 9 meeting is 7 p.m. at Boulevard Church, directly across from Eisenhower High School at 5309 W. Gore. Photographers of all skill levels are welcome.
The public is welcome at all meetings, which are held the second Thursday of each month. As a member of the Lawton Arts for All organization, Wichita Wildlight Photographic Society is partly funded by its participation in community events and by its members giving classes and displaying photographic art for the public.
