ANADARKO — An arrest warrant was issued for a former Great Plains Correctional Center inmate accused of grabbing a female corrections officer’s behind.
The Caddo County District Court issued a felony arrest warrant Monday for Creighton Whitebuffalo, 30, for a count of sexual battery, records indicate. With more than two prior felony convictions, he faces between 20 years to life in prison if convicted.
The corrections officer was conducting a security check on July 13 and when she was verifying the eight inmates in their cell, Whitebuffalo grabbed her, the affidavit states. The officer told investigators Whitebuffalo tried to act like it was accidental contact.
An officer assisting the officer saw that Whitebuffalo “full grabbed” her partner before he was pushed away. She said she didn’t want to say the inmate’s name in front of the other inmates in fear they “may have taken it upon themselves to deal with it and assault the suspect,” the affidavit states.
Two inmates later told investigators they’d seen Whitebuffalo grab the officer and thrust his hips forward in a sexual manner, according to the affidavit.
Whitebuffalo has since been transferred to the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester. He has four prior felony convictions from Oklahoma County: March 2018, domestic abuse and domestic assault and battery; and from March 2020, first-degree burglary and second-degree robbery, according to Oklahoma Department of Corrections records.
