VELMA — A Lawton man was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital in critical condition following a Monday morning wreck west of Velma.
Richard I. Jones, 48, was transported by Air Evac to OU Medical Center where he was admitted in critical condition with arm and internal trunk injuries, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Jones was driving a Hundai Niro Hybrid on Oklahoma 7 when he and a Kimble heavy equipment truck driven by Travis L. Shebester collided on Oklahoma 7 in southeastern Stephens County shortly before 9 a.m., Trooper Kyle Keithley reported. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Shebester, 48, of Lindsay, was not injured.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
