The Lawton-Fort Sill Interdenominational Ministers Alliance will sponsor a candidate’s conversation Thursday for the two women running for the Lawton City Council Ward 7 seat.
The conversation is set from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Friendship Pentecostal Church Family Life Center, 1408 SW Pennsylvania. The event will feature Ward 7 Councilwoman Onreka Johnson, who is seeking a new term, and her challenger, Sherene Williams.
Organizers said the event is designed to bring the Lawton-Fort Sill community together to meet with candidates, address concerns, discuss future projects and inform voters.
Eligible registered voters in Ward 7 may participate in early voting from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 9-10, with Ward 7 precincts open on election day, Nov. 14. The winner will be sworn into office in January.
