WALTERS — The son of a Cotton County daycare worker is accused of inappropriate conduct with young girls at the daycare.
Sooner Dale Meyer, 22, made his initial appearance Monday in Cotton County District Court where he received two felony charges of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16, records indicate.
Meyer, a worker at Debbie’s Daycare, is accused of touching and kissing two girls on the cheek, face and lips in a lewd and lascivious manner, according to the probable cause affidavit. The charges are punishable by up to 25 years in prison each.
Investigators began looking into the allegations after a girl’s father reported the incident to Walters police. One of the girls said Meyer got under the blanket with her and kissed her on the lips, the affidavit states. The other girl said Meyer treated her like they were “married” and he would get “snugglier” when they were alone at the daycare.
Meyer denied the allegations to police.
Free on $25,000 bond with the condition he does not work at or be around the daycare until further notice from the court, Meyer returns to court at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 7 for his preliminary hearing conference, records indicate.
