Detectives with Lawton Police Department are investigating a weekend shooting in Elmer Thomas Park that left an unidentified victim dead.
According to a press release issued by city police early Monday, officers responded to a report of gunshots fired in Elmer Thomas Park. When officers arrived, they located a victim who was pronounced dead at the scene, the police department said. The park was closed to the public early Monday to allow for the investigation, according to the statement from police.
Detectives are asking members of the public who live in the area to check their security footage for anything pertaining to the incident.
