Lawton is facing an Air Quality Action Alert for the second day in a row.
For Saturday, the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality upgraded the city to the Orange category (unhealthy for sensitive groups). The designation means it is recommended that active children and adults, and people with respiratory disease limit prolonged outdoor exertion.
In Lawton, the designation also means the city’s mass transit system will offer half-price adult fares (75 cents) on LATS fixed routes on Saturday.
