Lawton police are questioning a suspect in a Thursday morning shooting that left one person hospitalized.
Officers were first called at 10:13 a.m. in reference to a shooting in the lobby of the Executive Inn, 3134 Cache Road, said Sgt. Christopher Blessing, Lawton Police Department public information officer. They soon found that wasn’t the location of the violence.
“They eventually found the room number (where it happened) and went and found the victim with a gunshot wound,” he said.
The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, Blessing said. The extent of injuries and victim’s condition were unavailable.
“The suspect has been taken into custody,” he said.
Crime scene tape blocked entry to Room No. 265 on the second floor of the hotel’s southeast building. Two police units remained stationed in the parking lot awaiting detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Scene Investigators arrival.
Blessing said more information will be released as it becomes available.
