The Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce’s executive committee has recommended that Sen. John Michael Montgomery become the new president/CEO.
The action is contingent on action by the chamber’s Board of Directors, which is scheduled to meet at 10 a.m.
Montgomery, a Lawton native, served as a member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 2014 to 2018, when he was elected to the Oklahoma Senate to represent District 32 (Lawton). He serves as vice chair for the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government and Transportation, with other committee assignments including Finance, Retirement and Insurance, and Rules, along joint committees on appropriations and budget, state-tribal relations. He also is a member of the Select Committee on Business Retention and Economic Development.
He has a bachelor of arts degree in international studies and a master of arts in global affairs from the University of Oklahoma, completing his MA in global affairs in summer 2019. He founded his investment advisory firm Invictus Investment Advisors in 2019.
Montgomery and his wife, Kylee, a teacher with Lawton Public Schools, have a daughter.
He will replace former Chamber President/CEO Krista Ratliff, who resigned effective June 1 to become the president/CEO of the FISTA Innovation Park. The chamber’s top position had been filled in the interim by Chamber Vice President Taron Epps.
