The municipal pool will not be able to open on Saturday.
A main component of the pool broke Friday during final preparations, according to a press release from the City of Lawton. Officials hope to make the necessary repairs and achieve safe water quality by next week, allowing the pool to open June 3.
Once the municipal pool is open, its normal operating hours will be from noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Please note that temporary closures or delays may occur during normal pool operating hours due to weather, staffing shortages, or unsafe conditions such as unacceptable water quality, according to a press release.
The opening day for the Clement Washington Splash Pad and the 35th Division Wading Pool will open Tuesday. Normal operating hours for both locations will be from 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The spray park in Elmer Thomas Park is open. Hours of operation are noon-8 p.m. daily.
