Officials are investigating after a body was found just inside the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge on Wednesday afternoon.
The body was found along Oklahoma 49, just inside the east entrance on the Medicine Park side of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, said Agent Gerald Davidson from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI).
“We were called into assist the FBI and the Comanche County Sheriff’s Office,” he said. “We are there as support.”
The Oklahoma Medical Examiner was called in and the body is expected to return to the Oklahoma City office for autopsy and identification.
The east entrance to the refuge was closed to travel into the evening.
