A Fort Sill soldier was killed in a head-on collision Saturday near the town of Oakwood in Dewey County.
Sgt. Jonathan Hill, 2nd Battalion, 20th Field Artillery, 75th Field Artillery Brigade, was killed when a driver crossed the center line on U.S. 287 and hit Hill head-on, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Joshua Byrd, OHP traffic fatality investigator.
“We are saddened by the loss of a great non-commissioned officer like Sgt. Hill,” said Col. David Norris, 75th Field Artillery Brigade commander. “Our hearts are with the family, loved ones and his fellow Soldiers during this difficult time. We offer our condolences on behalf of the entire Diamond Brigade.”
An investigation is underway by Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
