LAWTON – Cameron’s Trevor Mierl has been named the Lone Star Conference co-men’s Golfer of the Week, announced by the league’s offices in Richardson, Texas.
Mierl paced the Aggies on the course this past week as the sophomore finished tied for fourth overall at The Writz at Mile High hosted by Colorado Christian at Bear Creek Golf Club in Lakewood, Colorado.
The Austin, Texas, native fired rounds of 72, 73 and 68 for a total score of 213 (-3) as the Black and Gold finished third as a team during their first tournament of the fall. Mierl registered 12 birdies during the event, closing the tournament with five in his final round.
CU returns to the course on Oct. 3-4 as they participate in the Ryan Palmer Invitational in Amarillo, Texas, hosted by West Texas A&M at the Amarillo Country Club.
