LAWTON – Belle Vignes of the Cameron women’s cross country team started the season off with a bang, winning the individual crown at the Aggie Duels last Saturday at the Big Green Soccer Complex in Lawton.
Vignes won with a time of 18 minutes 44 seconds. Daesha Brathwaite placed third with a time of 18:54. Genevieve Young joined Vignes and Brathwaite in the top 10, finishing with a time of 19:46 in 10th place, and Mary Seema placed 12th, with a time of 19:57.
As a team, the Aggies finished in second place with 45 points. Midwestern State took the team title with 24 points. Southeastern Oklahoma State placed third with 75 points, Southwestern Oklahoma State took fourth with 121 points, and Northwestern Oklahoma State rounded out the top five with 148 points.
Oklahoma Panhandle State scored 151 points to finish sixth, and Redlands Community College took seventh with 198 points.
Cameron’s Emma Costantini recorded a time of 20:50, Alejandra Collier finished at the 21:06 mark, Evalynn Pedroza had a time of 21:39, and Arian Spears finished at 21:43.
Also running were Serah Timbwol, Delicia Delgadillo, and Vivien Chesire. Timbwol turned in a time of 22:02.36, Delgadillo recorded a time of 22:11, and Chesire ended with a time of 24:08.
