LAWTON – Applications for Lawton’s elk hunt are now available to the public.
Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Sept. 16 to the Lawton city clerk’s office, 212 SW Ninth St., or the Parks and Recreation Lakes Division at 23510 state Highway 58, Lawton.
The drawing will be held at 4:15 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Lakes and Land Commission Meeting at the Owens Multipurpose Center, 1405 SW 11th Street, according to a news release from City Hall. The first hunt will take place Oct. 6-9, and the second hunt will take place Dec. 8-11.
Please note a few changes to applying. If someone drew or tagged an elk on city-owned property in 2019, 2020 or 2021, they are not eligible to apply for this hunt. Also, the application fee is now $25.
