A Lawton man is in jail on $75,000 bond for allegations he shot his brother Friday night.
Keivin Edmond Jackson, 26, made his initial appearance Tuesday in Comanche County District Court where he received a felony charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, records indicate. The crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Lawton police responded to a shooting call at 9 p.m. Friday at 1806 NW Floyd and found the victim who was taken to receive care at a local hospital, Detective Felix Santillan stated. First arriving officers found the man holding his chest and saying he’d been shot and could barely breathe, the probable cause affidavit states.
When the officers asked who shot the man, Jackson said, “I did,” according to the affidavit. He again admitted to the shooting once arrested, Santillan stated.
As part of Jackson’s bond conditions, he is to have no contact with his brother. He returns to court at 3 p.m. May 13 for his preliminary hearing conference, records indicate.
