ANADARKO — A Caddo County man is in jail on $500,000 bond for allegations he shared child pornography through a social media site.
Daniel Scott Felan, 50, of Apache, made his initial appearance Wednesday in Caddo County District Court where he received three felony counts of procuring/producing/distributing/possessing juvenile pornography and a count of violation of Oklahoma Statute via computer, records indicate. The child porn charges are each punishable by up to 20 years in prison and/or up to $25,000 fine without being eligible to serve a deferred sentence.
An Internet Crimes Against Children CyberTip received by the Caddo County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 19, 2024, would lead back to Felan, according to the probable cause affidavit. The material was found via the social media platform KIK, Deputy Tom Adkins stated.
Three videos showing a man sexually abusing a child were retrieved from Felan’s account following a search warrant execution, the affidavit states.
Felan was interviewed Tuesday and confronted with the sanitized photos from the videos. He confirmed his KIK account but didn’t remember the images and claimed he never distributed them; however, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children stated the videos were shared with another user via private message, according to the affidavit.
Felan returns to court at 9 a.m. July 10 for his preliminary hearing conference, records indicate.
