Things continue to change at Great Plains Technology Center.
At the last school board meeting held Tuesday night, the board announced the new deputy superintendent to be Morgan Gould, who, until he starts his position July 1, is the director of Business and Industry services at GPTC.
Aside from that, Brandon Mayer announced that the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education will reduce the hours of some career tech programs so they will have the “same hours for everyone.”
Not all programs will have reduced hours, some such as nursing need the hours currently set. But some programs will have somewhere between 960 hours for two year students and 480 hours for one year students. This decision was decided based on the evaluation of the 29 tech centers throughout Oklahoma and debating whether the hours are required or need to be changed.
