OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs (ODVA) is proud to announce the inaugural meeting of the Oklahoma Veterans Advisory Forum (OVAF), a newly established platform aimed at fostering collaboration among veterans-focused nonprofits across the state.
The Oklahoma Veterans Advisory Forum (OVAF) is designed to serve as a vital platform for collaboration among veterans-focused nonprofits throughout Oklahoma. OVAF provides advice and recommendations to the Oklahoma Veterans Commission (OVC) and the ODVA on policies and solutions addressing the challenges faced by Oklahoma’s veterans.
ODVA’s mission, according to the press release is to unify veterans-focused organizations in Oklahoma, facilitate discussions on key veterans’ issues, identify actionable solutions to enhance services and outcomes for veterans and their families, advise on state policies affecting veterans. The group will also address emerging concerns within the veterans’ community by ensuring they reach the OVC and ODVA leadership.
The first meeting will be held a the ADVA Headquarters at 2132 NE 36th St, Oklahoma City, at 10 a.m. on March 26.
Attendees will include a member of the OVC executive committee, the ODVA Chief Counsel, and the ODVA Executive Director (or designated representative).
The ODVA strongly encourages all nonprofit organizations serving Oklahoma’s veterans to attend and participate. There are no dues — just a direct voice to influence change and improve veterans’ services without unnecessary bureaucracy.
“This forum is a huge step in unifying our efforts to support veterans across Oklahoma,” said Daron Hoggatt, Business Management Program Administrator for the ODVA in a press release. “By bringing together diverse organizations, we aim to create impactful solutions and drive positive change for our veterans and their families.”
